Who We Are
Sharmika Dockery
Founder & CEO
Sharmika is the Founder and CEO of Beyond Strength, a digital platform transforming how disabled individuals, families and carers discover trusted support. Drawing on her own lived experience of disability, she has led the vision, strategy and development of the platform from the ground up, bringing together accessible services, professionals, community and resources into one trusted place. Her mission is to make support easier to find, more inclusive and accessible to everyone.
Sylvia Chengo
Director
Sylvia supports content and inclusive communication at Beyond Strength. As a visually impaired mother raising two neurodivergent children, she brings valuable lived experience that helps inform our approach to accessibility, representation and inclusive content. She contributes to ensuring the platform reflects the diverse needs of the community, supporting our mission to create a more inclusive space for disabled individuals, families and carers.

After the birth of my son, I became disabled unexpectedly while raising a neurodivergent child. As I searched for support, I found the same challenge over and over again: trusted services, information and community were scattered across countless places, making an already difficult journey even harder.
When I began sharing my experiences online, thousands of disabled individuals, parents and carers told me they were facing the same struggles. I listened to their stories, interviewed families and discovered one clear message: people wanted trusted support, genuine community and a place where they felt understood.
That’s why I created Beyond Strength.
A trusted digital home where disabled individuals, families and carers can connect with others who understand, discover accessible services, access expert-led support and feel part of a community that truly sees them.
